How To Hire A Videographer
Hiring a professional Videographer for your wedding has never been more important.
It has also never been as difficult to decide. Here are a few important guidelines to help you choose:
Equipment-
Your Videographer should be working entirely in HD. Cameras, Sound,
Editing, and delivery on DVD & soon, Blu-Ray.
Interface-
Your Videographer should be low profile and discreet. The current generation of digital cameras need little or no additional lighting. Bright, glaring, lights are an indication of dated gear.
Emotion-
View sample demo tapes. Immediately dismiss samples with shaky, poor quality, or badly composed footage.
You should be brought into the lives of these strangers in a moving way. Excellent quality footage without emotional power is not enough.
Experience-
Your wedding is a one-take event. There is no second chance. A Videographer who has filmed 1,000 weddings is a much safer choice than one who has filmed 100. If utilizing multiple cameras, be sure the second or third camera persons are qualified, not just a cousin or spouse of the principal shooter, unless both are equally capable.
Recommendations-
Certainly a satisfied friend or relative is a good sign. Give special consideration to the Videographer in question.
